KUCHING: Four men who attempted to rob a premises in Pending early yesterday morning found themselves punished by a group of men.
According to sources, around 8am the four went up to the premises located on the first floor of the commercial centre, suspected of operating illegal cyber gambling.
It was said that upon learning of their ill intent, the owner of the cyber centre and his friends waited to pounce on the unsuspecting four.
Three of the four men fled the scene, leaving behind the fourth person who suffered from a head injury and bone fracture during the attack. The public who witnessed the attack called the police who arrived at the scene to find the injured suspect lying on the ground, bleeding.
He was sent to Sarawak General Hospital by an ambulance around 10am.
In another case, a man was rushed to hospital after he was knocked down by a car at Sekama Road early yesterday morning.
The 61-year-old was riding a motorbike when a car hit him from the back and sped off.
A passersby who witnessed the incident called the authority and the hit-and-run victim was taken to hospital. His condition was reported to be stable.
