KUCHING: Quest International University Perak (QIUP) is a young and dynamic university with equity participation from the Perak state government.

QIUP’s Foundation programmes are a great way for students to develop practical and academic skills after SPM to help them embark on their journey towards higher education. The Foundation in Business and Foundation in Science programme has a practical focus with a range of hands-on-experience where students will gain the confidence, skills and knowledge to help them participate effectively in tertiary study. They will also explore a selection of QIUP programmes to help them plan their future study in Diploma or Degree programmes.
QIUP’s quest is to develop all rounded graduates to not only excel in their studies but also be actively participating in various conferences and educational competitions during their study here. This was proven when a project paper done by their first year medical undergraduates was selected to be presented at the 3rd International Public Health Conference and 20th National Public Health Colloquium which took place in Kuching, Sarawak.
This paper, which was a project by all the first year medical undergraduates and titled ‘Prevalence of Hypertension and its risks factors in an Orang Asli community in Perak, Malaysia’ was the only paper chosen prepared by undergraduates among the many thousands of papers submitted for selection.
To add to that, four undergraduates of the Bachelor of Computer Science programme participated in the IBM Mobilithon 2013 competition recently and were crowned as champions at this national level competition.
There are four Faculties at QIUP – Centre for Foundation Studies, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Integrative Sciences and Technology and Faculty of Business Management and Social Sciences and offers programmes at Foundation, Diploma and Degree levels.
At the Foundation level, programmes on offer are in Business and Science whilst at the Diploma level, Hotel Management, Business Management and Accountancy programmes are offered. A wide range of programmes are offered at the Degree level which are the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biotechnology, Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Electronics and Communications Engineering, Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) TESL, Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons), Bachelor of Finance (Hons), Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) and the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. At postgraduate level, QIUP offers the Master of Business Administration.
QIUP’s interim campus is strategically located in Ipoh, away from the distractions of bustling city life and aptly providing a conducive learning environment and lower cost of living.
