BETONG: The nation’s security personnel deserve all the praises because they are at the forefront of maintaining peace and safety of the people.
This is why it is important to have close cooperation between the security team and the people to keep tabs on any unhealthy activities in their areas, said Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim yesterday.
Rohani, who is also Batang Lupar MP, was speaking at an appreciation ceremony organised by Betong District Police Headquarter at the Betong Government Rest House.
In his speech earlier on, Betong District Police chief Wan Zaizodin Wan Jaafar said that the ceremony was organised for IPD Betong team members being transferred to other districts in Sarawak.
“We pray that our personnel will continue to serve with responsibility and dedication at their new stations. This is the norm for all of us in the civil service. We should always be ready to serve anywhere,” he said.
“To those who are just transferred to IPD Betong, I bid you welcome and hope that you will adjust to life in Betong.”
Also present at the event were Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor, Saribas assemblyman Mohammad Razi Sitam, Betong Resident Datu Romie Sigan Daniel, and Betong Special Branch Chief ASP Noor Illham Hadeni.
