SIBU: Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King, deputy chairman Dato Andrew Wong Kee Yew and councillors took their oath of office yesterday at RH Hotel.
The ceremony started with the singing of national anthem ‘Negaraku’ and state anthem ‘Ibu Pertiwiku’.
This was followed by the recitation of a prayer.
Local Government and Community Development Minister Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh officiated at the function.
Besides Wong’s keynote address, there was also a speech from the municipal chairman.
