MIRI: Muslim communities throughout the state are urged to remain united and reject any propaganda that could undermine the solidarity between them and people of other races.
When giving this reminder, state director of Special Affairs Department (Jasa) Hassan Busu told them to emulate the government, saying even though it had faced many challenges including malicious allegations by irresponsible parties over the years it had managed to overcome them through strong unity.
“We hope fellow Muslims will adopt the same approach — which is mutual tolerance, cooperation, mutual respect and most importantly practising the teachings of Prophet Muhammad,” Hassan said at the ‘Bubur Lambuk’ programme held at Nurul Iman mosque in Kampung Masjid Kuala Baram yesterday.
He also said it is very crucial that Muslims live by the spirit of unity not only among themselves but with other communities as well.
On Maulidur Rasul which is celebrated every year, he told them that it should be used an occasion to remind themselves to improve every aspect of their lives as taught by the prophet.
The ‘Bubur Lambuk’ programme was held in 221 other locations throughout the country yesterday.
Apart from distributing ‘Bubur Lambuk’ to the locals, Jasa also delivered aid to villagers in need.
A total of 12 senior citizens received essential goods while five students who obtained excellent results in UPSR and PMR examinations last year were given cash incentives.
