KUCHING: Police are on a manhunt for a snatch thief who got away with the handbag of a woman from a fast food restaurant at Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg yesterday.

In the 12pm incident, the victim in her 40s was waiting for her food order and the suspect looked like he was ordering food as well.

When the unsuspecting victim put her bag on the chair beside her, the suspect suddenly grabbed it and ran out of the eatery.

As the incident happened so fast, the victim and restaurant workers could not do anything to stop the thief.

The suspect, who was wearing a helmet, then rode away from the scene on a motorcycle with another man believed to be his accomplice.

A police report has been made and police are hunting for the suspect based on the CCTV recording from the eatery.
