KUCHING: The ‘Sarawak Nationalists’ Facebook group will hold a year-end gathering tonight (Dec 28) at McDonald’s Central Park from 7pm onwards.
They will be on hand to give away free download of what they claimed as ‘selected British colonial declassified documents’ to any Sarawakians interested to know the truth behind the formation of Malaysia.
They claimed that during the dying days of British rule, many documents from 37 former colonies were destroyed or hidden to protect the British government from litigation.
In 1962, Sarawak was one of the last British colonies, and the declassified documents relate the communication between Britain and Malaya in the run-up to the formation of Malaysia.
Anyone who wishes to have a copy of the selected documents must bring their own laptop or pendrive. Also available for purchase is ‘Sarawak: The Real Deal’ which chronicles the historical events in Sarawak leading to formation of Malaysia and ‘Pemberontakan Brunei 1962’ by Said Mohidin.
