KAPIT: Apart from regular weekly hash runs , the Tropical Rainforest Hash Club Kapit last night organised a ‘cooking competition’ that attracted six teams to participate for sheer fun and laughs, said its secretary David Wong Hau Ching.
Wong said a total of 30 participants took part in the cook-out held at ‘Ah Huat’ residence at Bletih resettlement scheme. Each team of five persons, men and women combined, had to prepare three dishes.
The competition was held in conjunction with the Christmas and New Year celebration.
Wong thanked the sponsors for the prizes in the form of cash and to purchase cooking material and ingredients.
Team Beef led by the grandmaster were adjudged the best cooks, while Rossi and Small Sea took the second and third places. They received cash rewards for prizes. Meanwhile, Team Durian was awarded for culinary creativity.
The night was filled with laughter while the participants enjoyed the food prepared by all competitors.
