MIRI: The Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club has officially adopted 15 fire hydrants under the Fire and Rescue Department’s (Bomba’s) ‘Friends of Fire Hydrants’ programme.
Eastwood is the first company and resort to join the programme here.
Lopeng Bomba station chief Eddy Zulkifli Abdullah praised the country club for setting a good example for others to follow.
“We really appreciate the country club’s efforts. As Friends of Fire Hydrants, they will become the ears and eyes of Bomba and help us monitor the fire hydrants which they have adopted,” he said during the certificate presentation ceremony yesterday.
The Friends of Fire Hydrants programme encourages residents and business owners to pledge to safeguard and care for fire hydrants to ensure that the hydrants are in good condition at all times.
By joining the programme, Eastwood will speedily notify Bomba should there be faulty devices.
Eastwood chief executive officer (CEO) Kueh Chie Tion said Eastwood is happy to collaborate with Bomba as it has always valued the safety of its staff and guests.
