KUCHING: Smart Reader Kids pupils had a fun-filled day participating in a Fancy Dress Competition organised by Kuching Specialist Hospital (KcSH) recently.

Two six-year-olds from Smart Reader Kids Rubber Road West, Muhd Irfan Jamboree and Nur Syamira Saiful Ulum, won second and third place in the competition.

Muhd Irfan donned a pirate costume resembling a character from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie while Nur Syamira wore a princess costume complete with a fluffy pink tiara.

Proud father Jamboree Majedi said Muhd Irfan was ecstatic and thrilled to have won second place. He felt it was worth his effort preparing the costume for his son.

According to Phyllemyna Lypard, the marketing officer of KcSH, the event held in conjunction with World’s Children’s Day was part of their corporate social responsibility activities.

Also present were general manager of KcSH, Mahazan Kamis and principal of Smart Reader Kids Rubber Road West, Valentina Freni.

Smart Reader Kids encouraged students to participate in competitions to teach them to be confident, brave and creative.

This is in-line with the Smart Reader Kids Creative Teaching Methodology — a fun and creative approach which forms the basis of the Smart Reader Kids curriculum.

“The children’s active participation in competitions and getting them to go on stage will boost their self-esteem and confidence,” Valentina said.

The Smart Reader Kids Creative Teaching Methodology developed by the group executive director of Smart Reader Worldwide, Datin Sri Dato Dr KH Wang, develops and enhances children’s creative and critical thinking skills, making learning fun and exciting.

Children are taught to acquire knowledge essential to develop their psychomotor skills to enhance physical and mind coordination.

Children also learn the importance of developing positive values that lead to higher Emotional Quotients (EQ).

This is in line with Smart Reader Kids vision of nurturing leaders of tomorrow to be creative, productive, articulate and expressive in English with high self-esteem.

Smart Reader Worldwide has more than 300 franchise enrichment centres throughout Malaysia and another 150 overseas in countries such as Thailand, the Philippines, China, Syria and Jordan.
