SARIKEI: The headmaster of a primary school in Jakar near here yesterday lodged a police report that tyres falling from a moving lorry had caused damage to the school’s building and gate.
In his report, the headmaster said he was informed of the incident by a worker, Bukri Paing, 49, who witnessed the event.
According to Bukri, the two tyres from the lorry landed on the main gate before it bounced on to the roof of the school’s pathway and awning of the pre-school block.
Apart from damaging the roof and gate, the electricity meter was also affected, the headmaster claimed in his report.
The worker had also jotted down the plate number of the lorry which was travelling from the direction of Sarikei to Kuching.
No one was injured in the incident which fortunately happened during a holiday.
