SIBU: Police here seemed to be winning the war against cyber gambling.
As they continued to storm online gambling dens, the number of gamblers they netted of late had dwindled.
Some `operators’ have folded ever since the cops began raiding online gambling dens last December.
In the last four months, police here raided about 30 dens, and on Tuesday, they pounced on another one at Oya Road at 4.45pm.
Led by senior investigating officer ASP Yeoh Chun Shyan, they arrested eight men, including a worker, and seized 15 computers.
The Tuesday raid was the fifth in a week.
In the other four raids, they conducted two on Monday and another two last week.
On Monday, they arrested 10 persons, including two workers, and seized 24 computers at the suspected gambling dens at Tan Sri Road and Taman Indah.
Earlier last week, they seized 29 computers and betting money amounting to over RM4,000 at the suspected dens at Market Road and Tong Sang Road.
Twelve persons, including gamblers and workers, were arrested.
