KOTA KINABALU: City Hall had issued 39,056 compound notices for numerous offences in the first 11 months of this year.
Its director-general, Datuk Yeo Boon Hai, said that from the compounds issued City Hall had collected RM2,227,375.
“A total of 1,551 cases have been brought up to court while 8,397 cases will be forwarded to the Attorney General’s office,” he said after officiating at the City Hall Enforcement Unit’s 30th anniversary procession at the Community Hall here yesterday.
He said City Hall enforcement personnel had also demolished 763 squatter houses and issued 903 notices to illegal squatters for repeated offences.
Meanwhile, Yeo reminded the enforcement officers to show good behaviour when carrying out their duties.
“As senior enforcement personnel, we must show good example to the juniors and to guide them to maintain the good image of the department,” he said.
