MIRI: PBB Lambir youth wing has drawn up various activities this year in an effort to be close to young people.
Its chief Imong Gani said through the activities, they hope to create among the youths awareness of developments in the state, country and the world.
“We believe by conducting activities, we can reach out to them and they will understand us.
“With such good network, the party’s youth wing will be able to receive and address problems and issues in particular areas,” he told The Borneo Post yesterday.
With that in mind, Imong, who is also state PBB youth exco member, urged members of the youth wing in Lambir to take part in the party’s activities and organise more activities at the sub-branch level.
“On behalf of the youth wing of Lambir branch, we would like to thank Lambir assemblyman cum chairman of PBB Lambir branch Ripin Lamat for giving us the green light and support for us to organise activities which will benefit the young people in Lambir constituency.”
The wing’s coming activity is a friendly football match between the Lambir youth wing and its sub-branches tomorrow which will be held at SK Keluru Tengah.
“In general, there are about 9 sub-branches of youth wings under the Lambir branch. We have extended our invitation to the youth pro-tem committee for Kejapil and Beraya to join this friendly match.”
He said the purpose of the friendly match is to get the youths together so that they know each other better and to build the spirit of camaraderie.
The next activity, he said, is an education and career road show dubbed ‘Mini Armada Pemuda’ for Lambir constituency.
The objective of the road show is to recruit and register new members and voters, he added.
In the pipeline, he said, are leadership course, public speaking course, seminar and many others.
