Two weeks ago an officer from the district station handed over 30 T-shirts to the association when conducting a training session there.

Suna described the setting up of the volunteer fire-fighting unit in the area (Ulu Sarikei) as most appropriate.

“Their service is very significant especially in saving lives and properties in the event of fires. Their services are also very much needed while waiting for the arrival of firemen,” he said

Since they are close to the scene of fires and knowing the area well, they could act smoothly and promptly, he added.

He added that they would continue to render their assistance to the volunteer unit especially in providing trainings and provision of logistics.
