KUCHING: Students at UCSI University’s Centre for Pre-University Studies did well in the GCE AS examination.

One of them earned straight A’s in all three subjects taken while the others also showed impressive results.

Top scorer Mavis Ong Mian Mian did not expect to achieve such good results.

The 18-year-old managed to get A’s in all subjects taken namely Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

Mavis said by building a strong foundation via the A-Levels, she is closer to realising her dream, and UCSI University Kuala Lumpur campus could be her next destination to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering.

“I’m also involved with sports and I prefer to focus on my revision and homework during night time,” Mavis said when asked about her time management.

“At UCSI University, lecturers give extra lessons to help students,” she said.

In a typical class, Mavis and her friends work closely with each other, especially in answering questions.

“I think this has not only helped me but benefited everyone in the class,” she added.

Other students who produced good results are Thian Lee Ping, Wilson Teo Jegai, Eng Chiao Chian, and Tan Yi Lin.

Head of the Centre for Pre-U Studies, Mukvinder Sandhu was proud of her students’ achievements.

“With our dedicated team of experienced and passionate staff, we are able to help our students excel in their respective fields once they move up to degree programmes,” she said.

The Centre for Pre-U Studies at UCSI University Sarawak Campus offers Foundation Studies and the Arts and Science Streams.
