KUCHING: Independant non-profit organisation Teach For Malaysia (TFM) will be holding a presentation on their Fellowship programme at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) at Tutorial Room 7, Engineering Faculty 1st Floor from 8pm to 10pm today (Feb 25).

With the aim of ending education inequity, TFM recruits and trains high-performing and passionate graduates and young professionals to teach in a high-need school through a two year Fellowship programme.

“We are very excited to be meeting amazing young leaders here in Sarawak. I’m certain that there are many graduates and young professionals here who are passionate about education and desire to be a driving force in our nation’s future,” 2012 Fellow and Alumnus Abel Cheah commented, according to a press release.

They will also be holding an informal chat over coffee tomorrow (Feb 26) at Bing! Padungan from 9am to 12.30pm to answer any questions that members of the public may have.

TFM Fellows currently teach in a total of 46 schools throughout Kedah, Penang, Perak, Pahang, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan and they hope to expand their reach to East Malaysia in 2015.

Members of the public who are interested to find out more about the Fellowship may visit www.teachformalaysia.org or www.facebook.com/TeachForMalaysia, or contact Abel Cheah (016-973 1463) or Sarah Lasung (012 – 891 0487) to find out more about TFM events in Sarawak.
