MIRI: Police arrested two security guards on Tuesday for allegedly stealing their client’s money last Friday.
The suspects, both in their 30s, were arrested in Taman Ceria, Permyjaya and Senadin after their employer lodged a report at the central police station here.
It is understood that the suspects were entrusted by the company to collect and escort money from their clients here.
However, it is learnt that RM3,000 had gone missing from a safety case when the duo arrived at a bank here to deposit the money.
Both men have been placed on a four-day remand and the case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated case, a youth in his 20s was arrested around 12pm yesterday for allegedly abusing the drug Methamphetamine at a budget hotel near Jalan Bintang.
He later tested positive for drugs.
