Early waste collection for Hari Raya

KUCHING: Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd has announced that the Friday collection services in several areas shall be carried out from as early as Thursday (July 16).

This is in addition to the Thursday collection services which shall be carried out as usual.

“Our operations teams will be working double shifts on the eve of Hari Raya to ensure that all wastes in areas with celebrating residents can be cleared in time before the festival,” said Trienekens’ logistics operations 1 department manager Mason Barau.

“Waste volume increases excessively close to the holidays and we would like to remind the public to refrain from dumping their wastes indiscriminately. Residents are advised to pack their waste properly to prevent spillage and help ease the collection process.”

Those affected at Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) areas are Kpg Kudei: Jalan Rubber Road Barat, Lorong Rubber 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,12,14, Jalan Dagok, Jalan Laruh, Jalan Parit Lama, Lorong Rubber 14,14A, Kampung Kudei Lama, Kampung Kudei Baru, Lorong Ong Guan Poh 1, Lorong Ong Guan Poh 2, Jalan Haji Taha next to SJK Chung Hua (Jalan Haji Taha).

Areas in Gita include Lorong Matang 3, Kampung Pinang Jawa, Jalan Bunga Kasturi, Bunga Rose, Jalan Bunga Champaka, Jalan Bunga Kenanga, Jalan Bunga Melati, Jalan Bunga Tanjung, Jalan Bunga Raja, Taman Gita Jaya, Kampung Gita Kubur, Jalan Bunga Teratai, Jalan Bunga Melur, Heritage Garden, Lorong Duranta, Jalan Semarak, Taman Sejoli, Taman Longseng, Jalan Medang, Lorong Matang 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and Laruh Skim.

Areas affected in Petra Jaya are Normah Medical Centre, Jalan Cenderawasih, Taman Melati, Taman Sri Sena, Taman Anib, Taman Sepawie, Taman Selasih, Taman Rasa Jaya, Taman Depo, Taman Haji Ramli Lorong Cendarawasih 7, Lorong Cenderawasih 6B2, Lorong Petra 1, 2, 3, Bangunan Masja, Dewan Undangan Negeri Baru, Taman Orkid, Astana Negeri, Wisma Pelita, Plaza Astana, Lorong Bukit Siol 1,2,2A, Kampung Sungai Bedil, Jalan Pedidi, Jalan Punan, Jalan Merak, Jalan Raja Wali, Jalan Layang-layang, Jalan Kenari, Jalan Helang, Lorong Merdeka 8, 8A, 8B. Demak: Jalan Siol Kandis,  Kampung Siol Kandis, Taman Asiah, Taman Alifa, Taman Tatai Kumang, Komplek Persatuan Tenis, Mahkamah Negeri Sarawak, Jalan Stadium, Kasuma Resort, Wisma Sumber Alam, Kampung Stadium, SMK Demak Baru, Jalan Bako, Health Department, Education Department, Information Department, Dusun Bayu, Petronas Station Sejingkat, Lorong Pristana Demak (5, 5B, 5D, 5F, 7) and Lorong Demak Bayu (3A, 3A1, 3A2, 3A3, 3A4, 3A5, 3A6, 3A7, 3A8).

In Bintawa, Kampung Gersik, Kampung Boyan, Kampung Surabaya, Kampung Panglima Sukma: Taman Sukma, Lorong Piala 4, Lorong (Juara 2A,2B,2C,2D,2E), Taman Rassnom, Jalan Bakti, Lorong Bakti 1A, Lorong Bakti 1B, 1B1,1B2,1B3,1B4,1B5,1B6 Wisma Wanita, Komplek Laila Taib, Kolej Teknologi, CIDB Semariang: Bandar Baru Semariang Commercial Centre, Bandar Baru Semariang Phase 2, 3, Bandar Baru Semariang Commercial Centre, Taman Puteri Mardi, Pejabat Yayasan, Pejabat Mardi, Jabatan Kimia, Filem Negara Malaysia, Sarawak Forests Department, Bandar Baru Semariang Fasa 5, Semariang Aman, Kampung Demak Baru, Sunan Bonang, SMI Industrial Sejingkat and SMK Sejingkat are affected.

In Kuching South City Council (MBKS) areas are Kampung Tabuan Dani, Kampung Tabuan Lot, Kampung Tabuan Ulu, Kampung Tabuan Hilir, Muara Tabuan light Industry and Kampung Haji Drahman.

In Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) the affected areas are Batu Kitang/Batu Kawa: Kampung Batu Kitang Melayu, Pekan Batu Kitang, Kampung Haji Baki, Taman Segedup, Taman Lovelyland, Kampung Stapok, Kampung Segedup, Taman Sri Segedup. Landeh: Taman Indah Landeh (RPR Landeh Lorong 1, 2, 3, 4), Kampung Paya Mebi, Kampung Landeh and Kampung Jawa Batu 12.

The collection schedule for other residential areas other than these locations shall remain unaffected. Residents are also reminded to push out their wheel bins as early as 5am on collection day to prevent missed collection.

Residents are urged to maintain the cleanliness of their neighbourhood. Additional waste which cannot fit into wheel bins should be kept inside garbage bags, tied securely and placed next to the bins.

Residents are encouraged to keep their bins closed at all times to prevent rainwater from mixing with waste, and to drain out any form of liquid such as soup or gravy from their kitchen waste before discarding the refuse to avoid leaked wastewater from forming.
