MIRI: Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau proposed the business community in Long Lama form a body as a platform to discuss problems and put forward business proposals to the government.
He said through an association or organisation, the business community could be grouped under one umbrella with one voice.
“I’m happy the Chinese community in Long Lama that has been proactive in any programme or function organised by the government will continue to do so to boost their business,” Dennis said during his Chinese New Year visit in Long Lama recently.
He said the government would continue to hold many events in Long Lama to benefit their businesses.
He expected that business would be good in view of the development to be brought to Baram, including the impact from SCORE, and observed that the Orang Ulu community from Tutoh Apoh had come to Long Lama for their shopping.
Thanking the Chinese community for working together with the government all these years, he urged them to continue with their support.
On the prices of household items and food there, he said he did not receive any complaint about rising prices so far.
Among those present were Pemanca Elizabeth Deng and Penghulu Desmond Yap.
