KAPIT: The Kapit Chiang Chuan Association presented ‘angpows’ to senior members aged 65 years and above during its Chinese New Year dinner on Friday.
A total of 38 students who excelled in their school and public examinations also received education incentives.
Association chairman Ma Tian Kock said he was thankful to all members, particularly committee members, for supporting planned activities throughout the year.
“Each time there’s a function, you’re around to give a helping hand. Your contribution is most valuable and appreciated because without active participation, nothing could be done smoothly,” he said at the dinner attended by some 400 guests.
“At the beginning of the year, this is the best time for us to reflect on the past one year – our failures and achievements, what we’ve accomplished and our weaknesses for future reference. Let us plan for the future by hoping to yield better results.”
The entertainment for the evening included lucky draws, karaoke and dancing presented by the Kapit Chiang Chuan Association Dance Group.
