KUCHING: The Ningkan clan will be holding their fifth reunion dinner here on March 22.
Organising chairman Nicholas Karusin said this year’s dinner was supposed to be held at their hometown Betong, but had to be moved to Kuching due to logistical reasons and for the convenience of family members.
Themed ‘The Sixties’, the dinner will gather family members whose family tree starts from Ningkan Igam, born in Nanga Graji, Betong, and wife Laai Andok.
Together, Ningkan and Laii had eight children comprising three sons and five daughters. The most notable one is the first chief minister of Sarawak, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan
Organising committee secretary, Nelson Lunyat Karusin, said the Ningkan clan had about 400 family members.
He said tables for the reunion dinner are now on sale, and family members can call him at 013-8128664 for more information.
The dinner is held once every two years since 2006. The last one was held here (Kuching) while Miri hosted the one before that.
