The suspects being brought to court to be remanded.

KUCHING: Three men, including a habitual criminal, were arrested early yesterday morning after being caught red-handed driving a stolen car while in possession of house-breaking tools.

The confrontation occurred around 3.30am when patrolling policemen spotted the trio suspiciously circling a commercial centre along Jalan Tun Razak in a station wagon and signalled for them to stop.

The suspects, however, sped off and led police on a short pursuit before they were eventually apprehended.

Following an inspection, alert police officers discovered that the car had been reported stolen in the vicinity of the Mile 10 bazaar several hours earlier.

A number of house-breaking tools were also found inside the vehicle, leading to the belief that the suspects were planning to break into a shop in the area while using the stolen car as their getaway vehicle.

The three men, aged between 20 and 47, have since been remanded for further investigation.
